Yucca Lodge Chemical Dependency Treatment Center
The Lodge
Yucca Lodge provides intensive residential treatment for persons with chemical dependency; many have secondary mental health disorders.
Established in 1977, Yucca Lodge is a facility of the NM Department of Health and is licensed by the State.
The Lodge is a restored adobe building from the mid-19th century on the campus of historic Fort Bayard Medical Center near Silver City. Yucca Lodge is adjacent to the Gila National Forest. The secluded setting encourages our residents to focus on treatment and to reflect on the roles of
addiction and of recovery in their lives. Treatment stays average 4 or more weeks depending on resident treatment needs.

Yucca Lodge's Philosophy
At Yucca Lodge, we believe that alcohol and drug dependence—addiction—is a disease. We support and value the 12–Step approach and use a variety of clinical and educational interventions with demonstrated effectiveness in treating chemical dependency. The program is flexible and individualized in order to address each resident’s specific substance use history and mental health needs.
Successful treatment and recovery require hard work and major changes in behavior, attitude, and lifestyle. Our program is highly structured and requires residents’ active and willing participation in all aspects of treatment.
Our goal is to empower residents to reclaim their lives and accept responsibility for their actions past, present and future.
Our Staff
Yucca Lodge’s staff is a team of licensed substance abuse and mental health counselors, registered nurses, and psychological technicians. They reflect the ethnic and cultural backgrounds of our residents. Yucca Lodge uses the services of Fort Bayard Medical Center physicians, psychiatrists, pharmacy and laboratory.
